A Common Service Center (CSC), also known as a Digital Seva Kendra, is a physical facility in India that provides access to various e-governance and other digital services to citizens, particularly in rural areas where internet access and computer literacy may be limited.
- Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services: Applications for Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, voter ID cards, passport applications, online land records, and various other government schemes and certificates.
- Business-to-Citizen (B2C) services: Online bill payments (electricity, water, phone), mobile recharges, DTH recharges, online shopping, travel ticket booking (rail, bus, air), and other private services.
- Financial services: Banking services, insurance products, and access to microfinance.
- Educational services: Digital literacy courses, online education, and skill development programs.
- Healthcare services: Telemedicine consultations, access to online health records, and information on health schemes.
- Agricultural services: Information on crop prices, weather forecasts, and agricultural inputs.
Essentially, CSCs act as a one-stop shop for citizens to access a wide array of digital services, bringing government services and other important resources closer to their communities.
